Passing your drivers test and receiving your license is an extremely important, fun, and exciting memory for anyone who accomplishes it. The drivers license is a sign of freedom and responsibility. On your way to receiving your license there are quite a few items that you must keep track of and accomplish in a check list style fashion. No worries though! Austin Driving School is here to help you through the entire process and ensure you accomplish everything needed to receive your drivers license!

1. Valid learner’s permit (this cannot be a fee receipt, it will need to have your photo and restrictions on it)

2. Impact Texas Young Driver’s Certificate (ITYD) –

What to expect…

Not sure what to expect on your driving test?

Here is what your examiner, will be looking for along with a few tips to help get you through the test.

The examiner will be looking for:

  • You must have control of the car at all times. Always keep both hands on the wheel (with the exception of backing).

  • You need to check your mirrors every 5-8 seconds. Make sure to check all intersections. You might want to exaggerate some by turning your head. This will help them see that you are checking.

  • Stay on the right side of the road. Never drive on the left side of the road.

  • You must signal 100 feet before turns and anytime you make any maneuvers. Remember, this means in the parking the lot, as well. Signal when you are turning, changing lanes, moving away from a curb, and entering and exiting the parallel parking poles. If not, you will lose points.

Program Overview

We provide free pick up and drop off at home or school for all behind-the-wheel lessons. And, we offer a payment plan at no additional charge. Also, the student will choose from one of the following driving programs: The Basic Course includes 6 hours of in-car driving & 6 hours of in-car observation; The Advantage Plus Program includes 8 hours of all private lessons (no need to do any observation); The Classic Experience includes 12 hours of all private lessons. All programs earn state certification and meet all high school graduation requirements. We also offer 25 and 50 hours behind-the-wheel programs.

Our instructor’s travel time is never deducted from the lesson. We guarantee to cover all phases of driving including expressway and all forms of parking.

There are never any extra charges for registration, make-up classes, or payment plan. When you have completed the class, and, as soon as you complete the behind-the-wheel lessons and observation if necessary, we will immediately certify you with the Secretary of State; and will also mail you your Adams certificate, which is used toward high school graduation requirements and your insurance discount.

The students are required to do 30 hours of class. They may miss up to 4 sessions, all of which must be made up. Students can make up missed classes by attending the same class missed the following month. All arrangements for make-up can be made by contacting our office: 800-123-4567.
